USDA Food Guide Pyramid

A guide for daily food choices

The USDA Pyramid is an outline of good general dietary practice. The basic food group at the base is the one that should be consumed in the largest amounts, while the optional sixth, at the top, should be consumed in the smallest amounts. Each of the five basic groups plays an important part in a food plan.

Salba® is the only food, including grains,
vegetables and fruits, that is part of each of the six groups of the pyramid.

Healthy Eating Pyramid

Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of the Department of Nutrition, Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard University and his pioneering team of Epidemiologists have designed a new "Healthy Eating Pyramid". This ground-breaking work was developed after decades of cogent research using the most up-to-date scientific, nutritional information available today.

The base of the Healthy Eating Pyramid represents the foods that should be consumed in the largest quantities. Dr. Willett believes that whole grain foods should be eaten at almost all meals.
